OstomyAid

Ostomy Lifestyle has started a new project called OstomyAid

OstomyAid gathers unused supplies from across the UK to put to good use in developing countries. Our mission is:

  • To provide people in developing countries affected by stoma surgery with the physical resources to support and  improve their long term well-being
  • To reduce the wastage of usable ostomy appliances and accessories in the UK

We will redistribute unused ostomy supplies donated to us to countries such as Ethiopia, Malawi and Sudan where the demand for these supplies is ever increasing. By providing these resources to countries most in need and twinning professional stoma care nurses within the hospitals of these countries, these supplies will be worth far more than they could have been in the UK.

Ostomy Lifestyle often receives queries from patients who have leftover ostomy supplies and do not want them to go to waste. Ostomy appliance manufacturers also have a considerable amount that they are willing to donate to a good cause.

Unfortunately, as OstomyAid operates with limited funds, we need to make sure we are only sending essential supplies to our beneficiaries.  Please do not send non-essential accessory items such as:

  • Wash bags or storage bags
  • Air fresheners
  • Clothing or support garments

If you have any unused ostomy supplies to donate please send them to:

OstomyAid (Ostomy Lifestyle)
4 The Courtyard
Bracknell

If you are attending one of our patient workshops or training days then it may be possible for us to collect your items from you then. Please contact us for more details. You are also welcome to call in to the office between 9am-5pm, Mon-Fri if this is convenient for you.

If you would like to make a financial donation towards the work of OstomyAid please send a cheque made payable to 'Ostomy Lifestyle' to the address above with a covering note or text 'OAID13 £5' to 70070.
